Cancer - The Losing Battle Of Choice

Jimmy V was one of the best, most well-known, and highly respected college basketball coaches to ever live. He was also a great family man and an overall terrific person. He is an idol of mine and his ESPY acceptance speech is one of my favorite speeches. Unfortunately, he was afflicted with cancer, and lost the battle.


If Jimmy V was eating the typical American diet heavy in animal protein, heated oils, bleached gluten grains, acrylamides, glycotoxins, heterocyclic amines, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, processed sugars, and synthetic chemicals and farming residues, it should be no surprise that his body was overtaken by cancer. If he did not clean up his diet and follow one rich in raw fruits and vegetables, but kept eating the typical American foods while undergoing the “standard” cancer treatments involving cancer-causing chemicals and radiation, it should be no surprise that he died of his “disease.” Unfortunately, the cancer research fund he started likely supports more of the same processes of toxic drugs and radiation, while overlooking what may be best. Rather than prevent cancer and teach people about the proper ways to do so, the typical medical doctor advises toxic, cancer-causing therapies to “treat” cancer – which makes no sense at all. Rather than teach us the ways to heal our bodies, so our natural healing properties can cure and reverse these diseases, they expect us to spend money on their unnecessary drugs while they poison us with chemotherapy and radiation treatments that become the main cause of death in nearly every terminal case.

Counting on chemotherapy to cure cancer is like counting on winning the lottery to purchase your next meal. The odds are stacked so highly against you that the best option is to go another route. This is why we find jobs and we work to pay for our food. This is why some of us plant gardens and grow our own organic food. We cannot rely on luck to eat. What I have a hard time with is trying to understand why millions of people willingly throw their lives away to chemotherapy and radiation treatments. The survival rate of chemotherapy is in the single percentile range. Of the millions of people who undergo chemotherapy, only a small percentage survive and many of those who do survive often develop cancer again. This is partly because chemotherapy creates more acidity in the blood, and in some cases cancer develops because of acidity in the blood. So the chemo treatment may kill the cancer cells, however it also kills other cells that divide rapidly. Soon after, more cancer may develop and start to spread.


In a study that was published in Nature Medicine in August 2012, the lead researcher, Peter Nelson, from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, concluded that chemotherapy not only produces resistance to chemotherapy by cancerous tumors, but that it also stimulates the growth and metastasis of cancer cells. In his study he found that close to ninety percent of patients with cancer that had metastasized had also become resistant to chemotherapy. The study further concluded that chemotherapy may trigger the production of high concentrations of a protein named WNT16B, which is involved in the development of cancer cells. Exposure to excessive amounts of chemotherapy was found to stimulate the production of an abundance of these proteins. As a result of chemo, the patient could also develop myelosuppression, mucositis, alopecia, and what is known as chemo brain. These conditions can also play roles in the patient being prescribed even more chemical “medications.” Myelosuppression is suppression of the immune system. The patient may become so sick that they cannot walk. This may result in infections producing overwhelming amounts of bacteria in the blood. Mucositis is inflammation of the digestive tract, so this impairs the ability to eat, leading to severe malnourishment. Alopecia is an autoimmune disorder causing the loss of patches of hair. Chemo brain is a term applied to the damage done to the stem cells in the brain that store and create memories. The sad truth is that healing from cancer lies in the decision to change one’s lifestyle, but many people are so lost in a system that fails them that they never heal.

While the chances of surviving from chemotherapy are in the low percentile range, it is hard to determine the exact number, but I would bet a large wager that those who go to natural healing retreats, change their lifestyles, and incorporate raw, plant-based diets, have a survival rate much higher than those choosing the toxic medical “treatment.” I have read testimonials of people “miraculously” healing their bodies from cancer by choosing to abide by nature rather than give in to the synthetic, chemically-induced disease-breeding choice. I have seen numerous video testimonials and pictures of massive tumors that gradually fade away by detoxifying the body and incorporating greens, grass juices, and sprouts into the diet. Rather than being forced to damage their brains with radiation (I have a friend whose father died after being burned by an overdose of radiation for a brain tumor), these people choose to break away from the trap, stand up for their rights, cleanse the toxins out of their system, and eat raw, organic foods from nature. Rather than agreeing to undergo surgery to remove tumors that are only symptoms of the disease, there are people who go the natural route and their tumors fade away. Look up Chris Wark and access his website ( An inspiring story is of a woman who was given a death sentence by her cancer specialists. She decided to read Sunfood Diet Infusion by John McCabe, and the book motivated her to convert to a raw vegan diet. After only a year of following this diet, she is now cancer free.

I believe cancer is a chance for those diagnosed to wake up and realize they need a lifestyle change. Cancer is not a death sentence, instead, very often it is a manmade disease triggered by toxic foods, bad nutrition, and polluted water damaging immunity. It is fueled with toxic emotions. It stems from lack of movement and compacted energy. It is created by consuming slaughtered animal remains and by ingesting eggs, milk, and foods that contain them. By following standard medical cancer treatments, cancer can be more of a death sentence. Going the opposite route and converting to a raw, organic vegan lifestyle, not only can prevent cancer, but may also reverse it. It makes no sense that we are forced to poison and radiate our bodies to kill tumors when the procedure does not erase the root cause of the disease, which may often be food, nutrition, environment, and stress.


Misinformed doctors may use scare tactics to manipulate patients into undergoing chemotherapy and taking chemical drugs, but this is not wise. Lance Armstrong was one of a small fraction of the survivors of this practice. His survival does not mean the next cancer patient will be so lucky. Lance changed his diet immensely, which boosted his immune system to a higher level. In 2012, he announced that he has been switching to a low-fat vegan diet, and has been experiencing many positive benefits from it. The doctors may do anything they can to get patients to follow standard treatments. They may even go to the extremes of getting the legal system involved and forcing parents by law to subject their children to chemo, radiation, and surgery.


A perfect example would be the case of Daniel Hauser, who was thirteen years old and suffered from Hodgkin’s lymphoma. After his first term of chemotherapy, he felt so ill that he could not walk. He opted to not go back for a second term. The doctors took his parents to court and charged them with medical neglect. The judge then ruled that the boy must continue with chemotherapy and if the parents did not follow through, they would take the child away. The case was in Brown County, Minnesota. The ruling judge was John Rodenberg. What better defines medical neglect? Would it be the parents of this boy choosing not to force their son into frying and poisoning the cells and organs of his body with deadly chemotherapy and radiation? Or would medical neglect better be defined as the medical doctors who neglect the fact that their treatments may be deadly, that cancer could very well be reversed with optimal nutrition, and neglect to discuss the importance of a plant-based diet with their patients, instead forcing them to undergo harmful chemo and radiation treatments while ingesting an array of chemical drugs? We have, to a degree, placed the same burden on ourselves that we have placed on the slaves, the animals in the Animal Holocaust, and the primitive cultures from all over the world throughout history. Could this be our karma coming back to us in the form of disease for the many years of abuse, torture, rape, and murder we have forced on the people and animals of this planet?


If Jimmy V had gone to a natural healing retreat such as the Gerson Hospital and Healing Centre (CHIPSA) in Tijuana, Mexico, or even the Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach, FL, he may still be alive today. This holds true for many of the people who have died from cancer. Many people have discovered that the natural way, free of toxic medicine and rich in true nutrition, is the answer. The problem we face, especially in the USA, is that natural solutions are not highly profitable so they are quickly shut down, rejected, and even covered up, or referred to as a scam or as fraudulent. Max Gerson was a medical doctor who discovered natural ways of treating cancer. The medical industry would not accept his methods and did not allow him to practice in the USA. They paid his secretary to poison him and steal the manuscript of his first book, A Cancer Therapy: Results of Fifty Cases and the Cure of Advanced Cancer, which was eventually rewritten and published in 1958. He was able to escape the attempted poisoning and his work is now practiced in Tijuana, Mexico. His approach has successfully relieved thousands of people of their cancers, and each case has been documented. Although it was reported that the medical industry was able to successfully poison and murder Dr. Gerson years later, his daughter, Charlotte Gerson, has continued his legacy and continues to cure thousands to this day at her center in Tijuana, Mexico (


Charlotte has written an excellent book titled, The Gerson Therapy. There are several DVDs which have documented the treatments Gerson uses. Three of these DVDs I recommend are: The Beautiful Truth, The Gerson Miracle, and Dying to Have Known. An additional DVD that everyone should watch is Cancer Is Curable Now. At the Gerson Institute, they go about their treatment by internally cleansing the body with organic coffee enemas, eliminating all chemicals from the body, scrubbing the skin with skin brushes, providing exposure to sunlight, and giving their patients an intake of fresh organic vegetables, and juices. I strongly encourage anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer to seek their treatment. Start by watching these documentaries, and once you are inspired, seek out natural treatment, and avoid all toxic foods.


There are several natural healing centers in the USA as well, which abide by a similar healing protocol. Because of the strict medical laws, the staff may not tell you directly that they treat cancer, but they cleanse and detoxify the body so the cancer has a lower chance of surviving. In Wheaton, IL, there is the Total Health Institute ( In West Palm Beach, FL, Dr. Brian Clement directs the Hippocrates Health Institute ( Hippocrates has a very good reputation for healing the body and mind and if I were diagnosed with cancer I would seek their treatment. To understand cancer, the root cause must first be determined. We know after years of successfully healing the body that poor nutrition is a main trigger of cancer. The American Cancer Society estimates that nearly one-third of all cancer deaths in society are a result of poor nutrition. In his book, The China Study, Dr. T. Colin Campbell states, “There is enough evidence now that doctors should be discussing the option of pursuing dietary change as a potential path to cancer prevention and treatment. There is enough evidence now that the U.S. government should be discussing the idea that the toxicity of our diet is the single biggest cause of cancer. There is enough evidence now that local breast cancer alliances, and prostate and colon cancer institutions, should be discussing the possibility of providing information to Americans everywhere on how a whole foods, plant-based diet may be an incredibly effective anti-cancer medicine.” Dr. Campbell provides this evidence in the book.


Changing one’s diet is imminent for any chance of survival. Cancer develops when, over its lifespan, the body is exposed to toxins. The main contributors to cancer are: meat, processed meats (such as sausages, bacon, bologna, lunch meats, etc), dairy, eggs, a high-fat diet, clarified sugars, free radicals, packaged, processed meals on shelves or frozen, microwaved foods, suntan lotions, beauty products, added chemicals in our food and water, pharmaceutical drugs, cigarette smoking, environmental toxins (farming chemicals, smog, industrial pollution), and alcohol abuse.


“Humans now carry dioxin levels in their bodies hundreds of times greater than the “acceptable” cancer risk as defined by the EPA, and ninety-five percent of this results from eating red meat, fish and dairy products. An EarthSave study of 11,000 people showed that those on a vegetarian diet have a forty percent lower risk of developing cancer than meat-eaters.” – Jennifer Bogo, author of The Diet-Cancer Connection.


After nearly sixty years and many billions of dollars later, cancer research has helped spread cancer, hidden the real cures, and taken more lives per year than ever before. Where is this money going? Why are doctors not finding the root cause of cancer and then curing it rather than “treating” the symptoms while frying and poisoning the bodies of those with cancer through chemotherapy and radiation? In his book, The Cancer Survivor’s Guide, Dr. Neal Barnard states, “For many years, researchers have been investigating how food choices can help prevent cancer, and when cancer has been diagnosed, how these choices can improve survival. While their work is by no means finished, what is already known is nothing short of dramatic. Certain diet patterns seem to have a major effect, helping people diagnosed with cancer to live longer, healthier lives. Other diet choices are risky propositions, increasing the toll cancer takes.” As mentioned, ways of reducing the risk of cancer include, eating the right foods, and avoiding animal proteins, sugars, acrylamides, glycotoxins, heterocyclic amines, food chemicals, foreign hormones (from animal products), free radicals, and nitrates. By eliminating these from the diet, the cancer cells are less likely to take hold as our immune system is stronger.


“Dr. Davaasambuu cited a study comparing diet and cancer rates in forty-two countries that showed a strong correlation between milk and cheese consumption and the incidence of testicular cancer among men aged twenty to thirty-nine – rates were highest in high consuming countries such as Switzerland and Denmark and low in Algeria and other parts of the world where people eat less dairy. She also linked rising rates of dairy consumption to the increased death rates from prostate cancer (from near zero per 100,000 men five decades ago to seven per 100,000 men today) and noted that breast cancer also appears to be linked to milk and cheese consumption.” – Andrew Weil, M.D.


To begin reversing cancer, it is important to immediately remove meat, sugar, eggs, sodas, and dairy from the diet. The most powerful cancer fighting foods are raw fruits, vegetables, and fresh organic juices. Asparagus and wheatgrass juice are especially effective. Asparagus contains an active compound known as asparanin A, which has shown to be a promising preventative and therapeutic agent against hepatoma. A study published in 2009 in the Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications journal showed that asparanin A induces G(2)/M phase arrest and apoptosis in human hepatocellular carcinoma HepG2 cells.


In simpler terms, the compound, known as asparanin A, has anti-cancer effects and this could be the reason why asparagus has been effective in fighting cancers such as lymphoma and melanoma. A study published in a 2011 edition of the Turkish Journal of Medical Science concluded that wheatgrass juice intake can kill cancer cells.There are several wheatgrass retreats offering wheatgrass therapy for treating cancer. Organic red wheat berries are around three dollars per pound and all you need is a few pounds to go along with some wheatgrass trays and soil, and a juicer. Steve Meyerowitz wrote a book titled, Wheatgrass: Nature’s Finest Medicine, and the book provides details on how to effectively grow your own wheatgrass. You can purchase readily available wheatgrass on his site at Those who have had success in reversing their cancer most often did so by simply removing meat, dairy, eggs, sodas, sugar, and all junk food from the diet and replacing them with green smoothies containing high amounts of raw asparagus and other greens, and drinking them daily. They also drink wheatgrass juice daily.


Another cancer fighting compound found in foods is saponins. They are a group of phytochemicals found in a variety of edible plants and they can prevent cancer cells from growing and mutating. In a study published in 2008 in the Mini Reviews of Medicinal Chemistry journal, it was found that saponins have favorable anti-tumorigenic properties and can inhibit tumor cell growth by cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. According to, their research has confirmed that saponins are found in the skin of grapes; legumes (especially chickpeas, red kidney beans, navy beans, and pinto beans); herbs and spices (alfalfa, ginseng, fenugreek, and paprika); and foods such as asparagus, beets, chives, garlic, leeks, oats, onions, peppers, spinach, and sprouts. Mung bean sprouts have been used to treat cancer because they contain a high amount of vitamin B17. At the Hippocrates Health Institute, these sprouts are used with most meals. They can be grown in a sprouting jar using only distilled water and organic mung beans. I mentioned more on sprouting in chapter three. Prevention is the most important factor in beating cancer. If you have not been following a healthful diet, it is highly important to clean up your diet so that your system can begin to function on a better level and rid itself of toxins. Colon hydrotherapy, oxygen baths, infrared saunas and lymphatic drainage services can be beneficial for speeding up the removal of toxins.
